Dr. Vij is a dynamic professional and well-recognized leader with 39 years of Industry experience in various facets of E & P industry mainly in exploration, Exploitation and production management of oil and gas fields of India with Specializations in reservoir engineering & management, Asset management, production Engineering, water flooding and production optimization techniques. He was trained in MDI Gurgaon, IIM Bangalore and various management Schools of European countries. He was associated with McKinsey & Company and has worked in association with Boston Consulting Group while implementing the stage-gate Processes in Gamij field of ONGC’s Ahmedabad Asset. He was responsible for Developing the first Geo-Cellular Model of Mumbai-High field, implementing first Miscible EOR in Gandhar, Gujarat, and immiscible gas injection Enhanced Oil Recovery in Borholla, Assam. He has played a pivotal role in formulating development And redevelopment plan for 15 fields of ONGC. Dr. Vij has been awarded for my various accomplishments in the organization. Among others, Awards from Honorable President of India, Vice-President of India, CMD & Directors of ONGC, etc. After his retirement from ONGC, Dr. Vij is back into academics and joined Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) as Director of the School of Petroleum Technology (SPT) in 2019. He was responsible for tailoring the academic courses of SPT, PDPU as per the ongoing demands of the industry. Being a highly respected Professional for his industrial engagements, he is making significant efforts to Strengthen the industry-academia relation. He has already completed 7 consultancy Projects including the highly appraised project for NITI, Aayog, Govt. of India. He has published more than 60 technical papers, 50 conference papers and 10 patents to his name. Dr. Abolmohsen Shabib-Asl is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Calgary, Canada. He Joined the University of Calgary in March 2018 with over 14 years multi-disciplinary experience in Research and development sector. He has more than 9 years experience in industries as a reservoir and Production engineer. He holds his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering. His Ph.D. project focused on New Hybrid EOR techniques when he awarded secured a fully funded scholarship for his Ph.D. research by PETRONAS University of Technology, Malaysia. So far, he has authored or co-authored more than 20 papers, receiving prestigious recognition from academia and industry through various awards and also a reviewer of several ISI journals.

His areas of expertise are Reservoir modeling & simulation, reservoir performance analysis, optimization, development planning, and reserve estimation. He is currently conducting research topic: Evaluation and Manipulation of the Fundamental Controls on Hydrocarbon Fluid Recovery and GHG Storage using GHG’S at the Injected Fluid.

Dr. Gordon Huang is a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Energy and Environment, and Executive Director of the Institute for Energy, Environment and Sustainable Communities at the University of Regina. Since the 1990s, he has led over 150 climate and environment-related projects, produced over 800 peer-refereed journal papers with an SCI-based H-index of 50, and supervised over 100 graduate students. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the president of the International Society for Environmental Information Sciences, editor-in-chief for 2 international journals, and editorial board member for over 10 journals.

.Professor Jean-Marie Basset is the Distinguished Professor for Chemical Science in the Physical Science and Engineering Division at King Abdullah University of Science & Technology. Prof. Basset, who has authored more than 500 scientific papers 50 patents, pioneered the field of “Surface Organometallic Chemistry", which focuses on possible relationships between homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis. Professor Basset received his PhD in 1969 from the University of Lyon, France. After a postdoctoral position in Toronto he moved to the Institute of Catalysis in Lyon where he became vice-director. In 1987, he founded the Laboratory of Surface Organometallic Chemistry that became later the laboratory of Chemistry, Catalysis, Polymer, Process (C2P2). Professor Basset’s Lyon lab was home to 100 scientists, including Nobel Laureate Yves Chauvin who got his Nobel in 2005. In 2009 he moved to the King Abdulla University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia as director of the KAUST Catalysis Center.

Abdelaziz Khlaifatis the Head of Petroleum Engineering Department at Abu Dhabi Polytechnic and AD Poly SPE Students Chapter Advisor. Prior to joining AD Poly, Abdelaziz worked as a Research and Development Manager of Dhahran Research Center at Weatherford International (Geoscience Development). Erstwhile, he worked as a Senior Reservoir Engineer, specialized in an unconventional resources (tight and shale gas) at Weatherford Saudi Arabia. Before joining Saudi Arabia office, he worked as a senior reservoir engineer (modeling and simulation) in the reservoir engineering group of the Weatherford Well Engineering Center of Excellence in Dubai.He obtained his BSc degree in Petroleum Engineering (1990) from Moscow Institute of Oil and Gas, Moscow-Russia, Master of Chemical Engineering and PhD in Chemical/Reservoir Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-USA in 1994 and 1998, respectively. Before joining Weatherford, he had held different positions in the academia. In 2009 he was promoted to a full professor of chemical engineering at Mutah University, Jordan.Abdelaziz is actively involved in scientific research and development of novel methodologies and techniques in tight and shale gas reservoirs, shale gas resource development workflow and tight gas staged field experiments. He has authored/coauthored over 80 publications, including journal articles, book chapters and specialized conference proceedings in the areas of flow through porous media, hydrocarbon reservoir engineering, unconventional tight and shale gas, managed pressure drilling, non-aqueous phase Liquid transport, photocatalysis, two phase flow modeling and simulation, and Dead Sea related-research. He is an active member of the SPE, AIChE, JGA, JES, JEA, AHWA and SFERA.

Dr. Shikha Sharma is Professor of Geology and Director of Biogeochemistry Laboratory at West Virginia University (WVU). Her shale gas research program is funded by research grants from several federal agencies like National Science Foundation, US Department of Energy and US Geological Survey. She has authored/co-authored several publications in high impact international peer review journals. Her current research projects focus on understanding biogeochemical controls on shale gas production, kerogen chemistry and water-rock-microbe interactions in shale reservoirs after injection of hydraulic fracturing fluids in shale reservoirs.

My research bridges the fields of low-temperature stable Isotope geochemistry, biogeochemistry, hydrogeochemistry, and unconventional energy. I utilize isotopic, geochemical and biomarker proxies to understand cycling of C/N/O/S/H in modern and ancient environments, and to address a wide range of energy and environment related issues. Results from our recent “Energy-Water- Environment” nexus related research projects demonstrate the applicability of multidisciplinary approaches to advance the development of unconventional energy resources, and address the environmental issues stemming from this development.

Dr. Songgang Qiu began his professional career as a senior principal engineer at a Research and Development company in 1997. He was quickly promoted to Vice President. In 2004, he led to create a R&D division to pursue government projects. He joined Temple University as a full professor in 2012. Currently, he is the full professor at West Virginia University. Over the last twenty years, he has served as principal Investigator for several dozes of government and industrial sponsored research projects. His current sponsored research projects are focused on power generation, energy conversion, solar energy, and energy efficiency.

He has been Professor in several universities, including the University of Saragossa or the European University of Madrid, researcher in the Department of Design and Manufacturing Engineering in the University of Saragossa, researcher also in I3A, Institute for engineering research in Aragon, director of academic innovation and subsequently pro-vice-chancellor. He has authored more than three hundred journal and conference papers, books and technical reports in the field of maintenance, working also as member of editorial boards, scientific committees and chairing international journals and conferences. In industry, he has been technological director and CBM manager of international companies, and actively participated in national and international committees for standardization and R&D in the topics of reliability and maintenance. Currently, he is Professor of Condition Monitoring in the Division of Operation and Maintenance Engineering at LTU, Luleå University of Technology where he is coordinating several H2020 projects related to different aspects of cyber physical systems, Industry 4.0, IoT or industrial Big Data. He was also involved in the SKF UTC centre located in Lulea focused on SMART bearings. He is also actively involved in national projects with the Swedish industry and also funded by Swedish national agencies like Vinnova. In the international arena, he has been visiting Professor in the Polytechnic of Braganza (Portugal), University of Valencia and NIU (USA). Currently, he is visiting professor in University of Sunderland (UK) and University of Maryland (USA), also guest professor in the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Chuxia Lin is the chair and Professor of School of Environment and Life Science, University of Salford, United Kingdom. He obtained his PhD in Environmental Science from The University of New South Wales in 1995 (thesis was submitted for examination in 1994). Before joining University of Salford, He held senior academic positions at University of Southern Queensland and South China Agricultural University. Earlier academic appointments were with Southern Cross University, The University of New South Wales and South China Normal University. He also worked as a professional environmental consultant with a global consulting company (Brisbane Office, Golder Associates) during the period from 2005 to 2009.

Chuxia lin have a broad range of research interests in environmental sciences with a particular focus on environmental issues related to acid sulfate weathering in mine areas (acid mine drainage) and coastal lowlands (acid sulfate soils). Other research interests include chemical behaviour of heavy metals and pesticides in water-soil-plant systems, characterization and treatment of industrial wastes, ecotoxicology, soil carbon sequestration, climate change adaptation, and payment for environmental services (PES).

Bharat Bhushan received an M.S. in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1971, an M.S. in mechanics and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1973 and 1976, respectively, an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at Troy, NY in 1980, Doctor Technicae from the University of Trondheim at Trondheim, Norway in 1990, a Doctor of Technical Sciences from the Warsaw University of Technology at Warsaw, Poland in 1996, and Doctor Honouris Causa from the National Academy of Sciences at Gomel, Belarus in 2000 and University of Kragujevac, Serbia in 2011. He is a registered professional engineer. He is presently an Ohio Eminent Scholar and The Howard D. Winbigler Professor in the College of Engineering, and the Director of the Nanoprobe Laboratory for Bio- & Nanotechnology and Biomimetics (NLB2) and affiliated faculty in John Glenn College of Public Affairs at the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. In 2013-14, he served as an ASME/AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow, House Committee on Science, Space & Technology, United States Congress, Washington, DC. His research interests include fundamental studies with a focus on scanning probe techniques in the interdisciplinary areas of bio/nanotribology, bio/nanomechanics and bio/nanomaterials characterization and applications to bio/nanotechnology, and biomimetics. He is an internationally recognized expert of bio/nanotribology and bio/nanomechanics using scanning probe microscopy, and is one of the most prolific authors. He is considered by some a pioneer of the tribology and mechanics of magnetic storage devices. He has authored 8 scientific books, 90+ handbook chapters, 800+ scientific papers (h-index – 76+; ISI Highly Cited Researcher in Materials Science since 2007 and in Biology and Biochemistry since 2013; ISI Top 5% Cited Authors for Journals in Chemistry since 2011), and 60+ technical reports. He has also edited 50+ books and holds 20 U.S. and foreign patents. Professor Zizi Abdeen is a Egyptian national. She is a researcher in polymer lab. Petrochemicals dep. Prof Zizi Abdeen her PhD in Polymer Chemistry in 2005 from Ain Shams University, (Egypt), where she also completed her M.Sc. Degree in Chemistry and her B.Sc., Degree in Chemistry, Faculty of Sciences, Cairo University, (Egypt). She was appointed Professor in 3/2016 in polymer lab. Petrochemicals dep. Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute. She main stream research is at the frontier of materials/polymer science and emerging fields such as nanotechnology/nanocomposites. She has a keen interest in the development of intelligent materials based on bio resources such as chitosan and starch through chemical modification and advanced biotechnology processes. He is author of over 27 articles on polymers, biomaterials, hydrogels and nano composites systems and reviewer of over 15 International journals and a member of the Advisory Editorial Board of Polymers and Biomaterials in different International journals. She was sharing as technical committee in international conference.

Mileva Radonjic completed her PhD at Bristol University, and postdoc at Princeton. She is currently being evaluated for associate professor in Petroleum Engineering Department at LSU. Dr. Radonjic established Sustainable Energy and Environmental Research (SEER) laboratory, focused on development of materials and technologies for prevention of leaky wellbores, in conventional O&G production, carbon sequestration and hydraulic fracturing. She is currently working as one of the editors on a book titled as the keynote presented here, and published papers with her graduate students in several journals as well as presented at more than 60 conferences in the last 5years.
