Biography

Dr. Vij is a dynamic professional and well-recognized leader with 39 years of Industry experience in various facets of E & P industry mainly in exploration, Exploitation and production management of oil and gas fields of India with Specializations in reservoir engineering & management, Asset management, production Engineering, water flooding and production optimization techniques. He was trained in MDI Gurgaon, IIM Bangalore and various management Schools of European countries. He was associated with McKinsey & Company and has worked in association with Boston Consulting Group while implementing the stage-gate Processes in Gamij field of ONGC’s Ahmedabad Asset. He was responsible for Developing the first Geo-Cellular Model of Mumbai-High field, implementing first Miscible EOR in Gandhar, Gujarat, and immiscible gas injection Enhanced Oil Recovery in Borholla, Assam. He has played a pivotal role in formulating development And redevelopment plan for 15 fields of ONGC. Dr. Vij has been awarded for my various accomplishments in the organization. Among others, Awards from Honorable President of India, Vice-President of India, CMD & Directors of ONGC, etc. After his retirement from ONGC, Dr. Vij is back into academics and joined Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) as Director of the School of Petroleum Technology (SPT) in 2019. He was responsible for tailoring the academic courses of SPT, PDPU as per the ongoing demands of the industry. Being a highly respected Professional for his industrial engagements, he is making significant efforts to Strengthen the industry-academia relation. He has already completed 7 consultancy Projects including the highly appraised project for NITI, Aayog, Govt. of India. He has published more than 60 technical papers, 50 conference papers and 10 patents to his name. For his immense effort in internationalization as a part of Study in India Campaign, he received an award from the Union Minister of Railways and Commerce Industry in 2020.
